♬ What and Where is SeoRae Village?
by

‘SeoRae village’ is a French village in Banpodong, Seoul near
Shin-Banbo station. The area became known as the French village after the
French School was set up there and many French people moved nearby. Now, the
area is famous for its attractive eco-friendly environment, but mostly for the great
variety of exotic restaurants and bakeries.
Restaurant: SHY BANA ★★★☆☆
There are lots of foreign restaurants in Korea, but most of them are
Italian. If you want to eat something exotic from all different countries,
Seorae has many choices. For example, the SHY BANA offers the foods of South
America.
There are many foods in this restaurant such as jambalaya, chicken
pot pie, meatloaf and pork chop steak. Meatloaf is seasoned ground beef baked
with various vegetables and is the most popular menu item. It is served with a biscuit,
a popover, coleslaw, corn salad, macaroni and cheese. Because the restaurant
owner is enthusiastic, you can eat foods that are prepared with great care.
Some weaknesses are the cost and the size of the restaurant. The
dishes cost between 10,000 to 25,000 won. And you have to go there early because
its size is small and if you are late, maybe you will need to wait.

Bakery: Paris
Croissant ★★★★☆
There are two floors in Paris Croissant. On the 1st
floor, there are lots of traditional French breads and pastries including sweet
croissant. As there are many French people in Seorae village, the bread is prepared
according to their tastes, which makes the bread different from that sold in
other bakeries. On the 2nd floor, we can eat brunch in the French
style. French Toast and omelet with bacon is the most famous brunch set. But
above all, I think that the brioche bread and asparagus with egg is the most
delicious dish! How about spending this weekend sampling French traditional
bread or brunch in the Seorae village’s the most famous bakery?

Restaurant: MADELEINE
★★★☆☆
Aren’t you curious about French homemade cooking, rather than the dishes
of formal restaurants? You can enjoy French homemade cooking in MADELEINE. The
interior of the restaurant is full of antique paintings and classical ornaments.
But the most the attractive point of this restaurant is that you can enjoy a
full course of French homemade cooking for 10,000 won at lunch. In this course,
French toast as an appetizer and the main dishes consist of choices like ‘cus
cus’ or ‘coq au vin’. And you should not miss out on waffles with syrup as the
dessert.
If you do think the amount of foods are not
enough, you don’t have to worry about that because there is a salad buffet. If
you enjoy tasting food while looking at paintings, the dishes will be doubly
delicious!
